A place of prayer, purpose, and God’s presence in the Nilgiris

Our story began in early 2007, when a family followed God’s call from a dry desert land to a serene, remote town just 32 km from Ooty in the Nilgiri Hills of Tamil Nadu. What began as a quiet beginning soon became something beautiful.

At first, we were just two believers, meeting in faith to pray and encourage one another. Though we came from different backgrounds, we were united by one foundation - Jesus Christ. As we prayed, God began to draw others to join us. The fellowship grew - not just in number, but in love, unity, and spiritual depth.

We experienced miracles, healing, and powerful answers to prayer. We saw lives transformed, hearts restored, and faith ignited. It became clear: God was building something eternal among us.

“Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity.” - Psalm 133:1

Through prayer meetings, mini crusades, and fasting gatherings, we saw walls come down—cultural, denominational, and geographical. People from all walks of life came together as one family in Christ.

When the Lord led us to move to Ooty, our mission remained the same:

“To present every man and woman perfect in Christ Jesus.” - Colossians 1:28

Today, Good News Friends is a joyful, Christ-centered fellowship of believers with a heart to serve, love, and witness for Jesus. Though we speak different languages and come from diverse cultures, we are united by one purpose: to make Christ known.
